Our Fiduciary Status

According to Wikipedia, a fiduciary "is a person who holds a legal or ethical relationship of trust with one or more parties (person or group of persons).  Asset managers - including managers of pension plans, endowments and other tax-exempt assets - are considered fiduciaries under applicable statues and laws.  In a fiduciary relationship, one person, in a position of vunerability, justifiably vests confidence, good faith, reliance, and trust in another whose aid, advice or protection is sought in some matter.  In such a relation good conscience requires the fiduciary to act at all times for the sole benefit and interest of the one who trusts."

Disciplined Financial Services is held to a fiduciary standard under the regulations.  A traditional broker only has to show that their recommendations are "suitable" at the time of a sale.  Fiduciaries, on the other hand, must demonstrate that the recommendation is in your best interest at all times.  The vast majority of investment salespersons are not fiduciaries.

To facilitate this fiduciary status, our business model is not based on charging sales commissions of any kind.  Our only compensation is derived from charging a quarterly fee based upon the market value of the investments under our care and direction.
